Jojoba oil

Extracted from the drought-resistant shrub – the Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Plant – jojoba oil has quickly become a mainstay in cosmetic formulations, with good reason. The oil has a singular chemical composition that is effective at reviving and restoring the skin.

Jojoba Oil: Nature’s Secret Skin-Enhancer

Jojoba oil is unlike any other plant oil – it is effectively a wax containing 98% wax esters. Besides this, it is also the only plant oil that most closely resembles the sebum in our skin. This phenomenon makes it one of the few oils to help all skin types repair any host of concerns. It does this by supplementing the skin's nutrients and regulating oil production.

Supplements Skin Intrinsic Nutrients

As you age, your skin slowly starts producing fewer of the nutrients necessary to maintain its health.

Then, due to external elements, whatever nutrients your skin generates deteriorates before they can be used to support the skin's functions.

Jojoba oil, however, has been proven to penetrate the skin deeper than other oils, allowing it to replenish the nutrients your skin loses. As a result, the nutrients in jojoba oil – including Vitamin E, A, D, Omega 6, and numerous minerals – absorb into the dermis, creating a chain reaction that revitalizes skin.

In turn, the skin can use those nutrients to promote collagen synthesis, reduce inflammation, heal wounds, and reverse the signs of aging.

Stabilizes Oil Production

One of the other benefits of Jojoba oil resembling the oily substance (sebum) our skin naturally produces is it regulates how much oil we produce. Unfortunately, even 'normal' skin types may have too much or too little sebum. While that may seem inconsequential, sebum is essential to the skin's function because it protects the skin and transports nutrients transdermally.

Naturally, when we produce too little sebum, the skin cannot deposit nutrients as it should. Conversely, when we make too much, our pores are clogged, rendering the function of sebum useless.

Then as we age and dietary and environmental stressors affect the skin, the skin no longer knows how much oil it needs to produce.

By adding jojoba oil to your routine, you develop a consistent signal, allowing your skin to adapt to the amount of oil you need.

When you look at skincare holistically, it becomes apparent that jojoba oil is the only plant-based substitute for our skin’s most valuable building block – sebum. Regrettably, elements beyond our control tear down that building block requiring it to be replaced.

Therefore, if you appreciate healthy, youthful, radiant skin, you will understand jojoba oil, as you cannot achieve flawless skin without incorporating this oil of wonders into your routine.

We would be really naughty to leave this out of our oil blends, now,

Sanctify your skin!
