Meadowfoam Oil

Meadowfoam oil is the perfect oil for flawless, hydrated, and glowing skin. Extracted from the seeds of the Limnanthes alba, meadowfoam oil is a multi-purpose, lightweight oil that can be used on all skin types. This magnificent oil also has many of the emollient properties of thicker oils but doesn't clog pores, leaving the skin with a velvety feel.

Protect Against Sun Damage

There are two chemical components derived from Meadowfoam, which protect the skin from UVB rays. UVB is not only the cause of suntan but also exacerbates discoloration and is shown to increase skin inflammation. By reducing the effects of UVB on your skin, Meadowfoam oil helps improve your physical appearance in time while ensuring the long-term effects of inflammation and discoloration don't cause premature aging.

It is important to remember, Meadowfoam oil is a healer more than a preventer against UVB rays and should never be used to replace your regular sunblock routine.

Be Still the Ageing Process

Besides protecting against UVB rays, the composition of Meadowfoam oil can also help stabilize the aging process.

Sun exposure, diet, pollution, and general aging are just a few of the main culprits that attack the skin's naturally-produced lipids. Lipids help keep the skin moisturized and fill in the cracks on the skin’s surface, resulting in the youthful glow we crave.

The fatty acid chain in Meadowfoam oil – which is unmatched in other seed oils – is the ideal topical treatment to replace the lipids lost through aging, sun exposure, and pollution, making your face firmer, hydrated, and plumper in no time at all.

Balance Skin's Natural Oil Production

Your skin naturally produces sebum, which is responsible for moisturizing your skin and protecting against infection. Your skin sends signals to the sebaceous glands to regulate production. These signals become unbalanced over time as pollution and diet make it challenging for your skin to understand how much sebum it needs to maintain its health. Too much sebum can lead to oily skin prone to acne breakouts, and too little can lead to dry, fragile skin that is prone to the signs of premature aging, including fine lines and wrinkles. The properties in meadowfoam oil are shown to balance sebum on the surface of the skin by regulating your body's production.

Topical application of Meadowfoam oil – which mimics the function of sebum – ensures the skin only produces the sebum it needs. And in the case of low sebum production, responsible for dry skin, Meadowfoam oil is also the perfect topical substitute containing many of the necessary fatty acids in sebum.

Soften Skin

You can trace the fine lines, wrinkles, and your skin's brittle texture to moisture loss. The emollient structure of meadowfoam oil  – which is made up of 95% long-chain fatty acids – softens skin, as it serves as a semi-permeable layer to keep skin hydrated. Using meadowfoam oil, you create a barrier on the surface that ensures your skin doesn't lose moisture. This means fewer pollutants penetrate the skin's surface and results in softer, smoother, more hydrated skin.

This lightweight, fatty-acid-rich oil is the answer to the dewy, plumper, softer, perfectly radiant skin you dream of. The velvety, lux texture means Meadowfoam oil should be a staple in your skincare routine.

Which is why it is part of our oil blends.
